I was fishing around in the National Archives when I came upon this painting of George Washington Crossing the Delaware – with an early edition of The Pout-Pout Fish cradled in his arms. As it turns out, he would often bring a copy to read to his men whenever they came down with a stubborn case of the Dreary Wearies.
